Painting session in our club VALHALA

It was really nice and relaxed evening,we were talking and painting and joking...I really enjoyed it :)
I was taking these pictures so I'm not on them, but I was painting this guy here:

Just to make up my mind what to paint on banner, put some rocks and static grass for basing and he is done!

Also,I intend to paint my next models much faster than the ones I have finished so far which means- less detail, more drybrushing!

And finally here is the bolt thrower:

I am very content how it all came out and I really enjoyed painting it.Actually, bolt thrower is the first thing that I assembled and started painting for my army.I wanted to give it darker, wooden look and I think that I managed to do that very well :)
Rope is made from the mark on the trousers,it is synthetic so it was easy to paint it and I think that it looks pretty cool.I can't wait to place it on the battlefield!

As for the crew,I am content with them too.
Guy who is loading bolts has Asterix's sword on his back-from Kinder Surprise, and it has some nice golden work on it's hilt.
I like how they look.
One interesting thing is maybe the basing-rocks are made from oats-I crushed them a bit and then glued to the base. Some drybrushing did the job.

And that's it!This is what I have finished.I want to complete my Sea Guard unit first. After that I am thinking of chariot-to take a break from infantry, but we'll see ;)

Meet the champion

I gave him cavalry sword and assembled him to look like he is in the middle of the fight, with raised shield to block attack and his sword ready to strike.
Scale is done using mithril silver and blue ink.

Left sleeve is entirely made from green stuff.
So,that's the champion!:)
So,here are the first 3 guys :)
Musician,soldier and champion.
Currently I am working on banner man and when I finish him I'll have full command.

Musician is converted using silver Helms unicorn horn and some green stuff to make both hands look the same

Right sleeve is totally made from green stuff.
For Tiranoc chariot instead of horses there are unicorns-so I had idea to maybe make it all more thematic when I putted this horn instead of usual spearmen trumpet.

This is the first time I used some washes as well as some layering and blending (on the shield).I still have much to learn but important thing is that I started ;)

At least I did the gem right ;)

PAINTING SCHEME

I wanted to give my High Elves different look than their usual white-blue.I want my elves to look more decisive, hence the darker look.
I am using Midnight Blue paint as main colour-darker than blue we used to see on them yet noble, the colour of clear night sky.As contrast to that there is Blood Red for details.
This is the first model in my army that I painted.

And it started :)

Hello! This is my first blog ever.I decided to make it in order to motivate myself as well as to document my hobby and hopefully to start discussions on that matter. Also,if you have something to show or share, don't be shy! :)

Everything started when I was in high school and when I first time saw LOTR figures from Games Workshop. It made me start sculpting my own dwarfs-made from mixture of salt and flour xD
I had idea to make every character from the book but I didn't go further than few figures of dwarfs.I still have them and if I manage to take a photo of them I will post it here.Anyway,I was kid back then.
In the meantime Warhammer caught my interest and for my 18th birthday my friends bought me High Elven Spearmen,Silver Helms and Bolt Throver. You can imagine how happy I was. However, since we are from small town without any gaming club,I didn't know anything about Warhammer rules and I was afraid to assemble them.
In the meantime I finished high school and went to university.I didn't really have time to paint but I bought enough paints to be able to start.
I'm studying power electronics and electrical machines in Novi Sad and there we have nice gaming club-Valhala.Recently I have more time and finally started making my army.As soon as possible I'll post photos of finished models and will post work in progress, ideas etc. This is only the beginning.
